Games that are sitting on my desk that I should finish. Or start, in some cases.

Games currently working on: 3
[ Myst IV, Katamari Damacy, Bloodmoon ]

Games beaten: 4
[ Tribunal, Half-Life 2, Morrowind, Ico]

Games stalled: 4

Myst IV 50% done

2005 January 24. This game is done in the style of the original Myst, which came out over ten years ago. Beautiful game, but you can tell the difference between the video clips and the background. It feels old.

The acting is cheese cheese cheese.

Also timing puzzles are awful. Who let those slide by QA?

Katamari Damacy 80% done

2005 January 24. Although my current site design's based off this game, I still have a couple of rounds to go.

Bloodmoon (Morrowind) 50% done (roughly)

2004 Sept 06. I started running around the snow island before realizing that I needed to re-do some Morrowind main quest things again. It's a good-sized island, big enough for lots of exploring but small enough so it doesn't take forever to do. The map has a lot of detail so you can see all the places that have interesting things such as houses and dungeons going on. I've covered a lot of the island, but right now I'm working on helping build a town. I recently accidently killed a guy (couldn't punch him with my fists so I tried the sword), I don't know if that's harmed the story at all. It remains to be told.

As a side note, the game doesn't have seals, but goofy looking walruses that galoof around. I had seen the new snowy island once in the in-game map before the game stopped working. There be seals there!

Tribunal (Morrowind) (of main quest)

Overall: B+

2005 January 24th. Over the last Christmas break, I was stuck on a Myst IV timing puzzle (man I don't like those things, it should be about logic, not how fast your fingers can move!), and decided to take a break and start up Tribunal. I must've poured at least a good ten hours until the end of the break towards this game.

In the beginning of this game, there was an wood elf who demanded money from me, a mere 10 gold, so I gave it to him. Then he asked for 100, then 1000. I stopped at the 1000 mark and told him to shove off. Later, he shows up in full ebony armor (that's good stuff) and said something to the effect of "I'M RICH AND NOW YOU DIE GREEDY FOOL." This guy was right outside one of the god's temples, so I had to keep running by him. Being chased by a wood elf who makes smarmy comments is really obnoxious.

I spent the entire game avoiding this guy because I couldn't take him out, but after ending the main story line, guess who else I ended! His armor's worth a lot of money. I think I'll sell it all off. Who's rich and who's dead now?

The whole point of this extension pack was to meet the other two gods of Morrowind, Almalexia and Sotha Sil. The story line for this game nicely fleshes out and compliments the Morrowind main story line.

In Morrowind there's a lot of running around, in this game the gameplay is a bit more dense, which was a nice change.

I confess cheated near the end. I needed a speed potion and I couldn't transport out to a town so I could get one. Reload a game? Pshaw, I'll just give myself a speed potion. And then I gave myself some health potions too, because I was supposed to be at level 40+ and I had just reached level 26.

This quest starts out with you awaking from a dream after you rest and some guy in a gas-mask-thing attacks you. I had to rest at some point, that's the only reason why part of this one is done.

Half-Life 2

Overall: A+

I've played through several parts again because it's just that fun. One of the great games of our time. I mean it people.

Morrowind (of main quest)

Overall: A (after plug-ins for sound and better graphics are added)

2004 November 9th. Whoops forgot to log this on this page when I beat the game. After having the game for two and a half years, it's finally beaten. The ending was pretty good. Nothing like a graphical masterpiece as, say, Half-Life 2, but the studio that makes these games is quite small. It was a fun journey.

2004 Sept 12 update. Saw a cutscene! It's one of two cutscenes, if there's one at the end. Not very graphically impressive, but the game is oldish. Received all sorts of nice gifts, including a pair of flying pants.

2004 Sept 06 update. The game works again, and I've all my items and experience. However, all the quests I'd done had been cleared, so I had to work through them again. Six hours later, I'm at the same point I was before the crashing started, and I'm making progress !!

At one point during the six hours I rolled over part of the Morrowind map with my chair, but not to worry, only small damage was done.

I have plugged quite a few hours into this one, but almost completely into side quests. But it's an open-ended game, it'd be a pity if I didn't take advantage of that. No regrets! Thanks to one of these side quests my sword is so great. It's about ten feet tall and quite shiny due to it being magic filled. I believe you meet a god at near the end of the game and quite frankly I'm already all set weapon-wise.
Reason for stopping play: The game keeps crashing. Can't install any mods
(Works now).

ICO

Overall: A. Best ending to a game ever.

16 Jan 04: I clocked in nine hours for this one. The ending to this game is totally sweet. I'd say more, but words won't really do it justice. It's just that well done. I see why ICO has such a strong following.

ICO's a very clever game. It has only ten lines of understandable dialogue, so the character presence is almost entirely built through a lack of verbal communcation. It's brilliant. BRILLIANT!

Just thinking about the ending makes me happy.
A+++ would play again.

Warcraft III 75% done

Only the Night Elf campaign to go.
Reason for stopping play: Night Elves cheese me off. Also the Orc campaign is a tough act to follow. Also also I'm pretty bad at the game, but ay, it's still an enjoyable playing experience.

Frozen Throne (Warcraft III) 0% done

Don't know too much about this one except the guy on the CD cover looks crabby.
Reason for never starting: Never finished Warcraft III. Can't have the carriage before the horse!

Devil May Cry 20% done

Resident Evil with unlimited ammo and kung fu guns! If it wasn't for the frustrating bosses / bad viewing angels at times, you could go through this game faster than food leaving a fat man's eating hand.
Reason for stopping play: Lost the memory card and didn't feel like recovering the data. Memory card has since been found.

Rez 95% done

Artsy fun music game!
Reason for stopping play: Last bit on the last level, low on health, and you get flown into the place with all the damn rockets! So frustrating aaargh
