My brother lent me the PS2 so I could play the game Shadow of Colossus. It has great reviews, which is to be expected. Colossus was done by the team who made ICO, which is one my favoritest games ever.

One problem, I can’t get past the first guy. 15 minutes into the game (14 of that being cut scenes) and I’m stuck.

While waiting in the three hour line to get George RR Martin’s autograph on Friday, the topic of the game came up. Paraphrased:

So I think I just suck at console games now. I can’t even get past the first guy.

Hmmm.

I just keep falling off and getting stomped.

Do you watch your grip meter?

It’s a meter in the lower right corner. Did you read the manual?

Well…no.

I never even noticed the grip meter thingie. So, I should read the manual before operating I suppose.

Or maybe my TV was just too small for me to notice these details.

So now I have a shiny new TV. One which I’m trying to figure out how hook up to my computer so I can play games on it. It’ll be like sitting in the front row in the theater and the picture will look god-awful, but that’s not the point. The point is...well I'm not really sure what the point is. But it'll be awesome nonetheless.
